Walks and Trails

Some of Seychelles' most wild and wonderful spots may be explored on foot.  Nature trails up into the mountains are very well laid out, and you can pick up an informative, inexperience handbook at Tourist Office in Victoria. These will enable you to tackle some of the treks by yourself, but to safely explore the truly off-beaten track places, it is required that you book a professional guide. 
Although some tracking may be steep at the beginning but upon arriving at the summit the rewards are great!! The views are stunning, as is the experience of walking in the virgin cloud forest surrounded by unique flora and fauna which can be seen nowhere else on earth.  There are a variety of easy walks up the magical mist forests on Mahe, Praslin and Silhouette, and for those who want to test their strength choices are limitless.

Anse Major, Mahe           Tracking: Easy              Duration: 1 - 1½ hours each way.
This easy relatively trails winds its way along the rocky northwestern coastline leading to the small secluded beach of Anse Major.  Most of this trail lies within the boundaries of Morn Seychellois National Park.

Copolia, Mahe                  Tracking: Moderate       Duration: 1 - 1½ hours each way.
This trails spills out onto the wide expanse of a granite mountaintop with 360 degree views of Mahe.  With an altitude of 300-580 metres, the Val Riche, Copolia is situated within the Morne Seychellois National park and takes trekker through areas of exceptionally rich biodiversity.

Valee de Mai, Praslin       Tracking: Easy             Duration: 2 - 4 hrs
The legendary Vallee de Mai is one of two UNESCO World Heritage Site in Seychelles, and was once believed to be the original Garden of Eden.  This hauntingly beautiful primeval forest is home to some 6,000 Coco de Mer trees.  The paths allow some flexibility in that trekkers can double back before completing the entire track but to explore all the paths and really absorb the atmosphere of the Vallee, it's best to allow 3-4 hours.
